About the Speaker
Ms. Kimara P. Mayberry, MBA, PHR, SHRM-CP, CHAA
Kimara P. Mayberry is the Human Resources Training and Development Coordinator for Clark Construction Company, with Headquarters located in Lansing, MI and additional locations in Southeast Michigan (Auburn Hills) and Northern Michigan (Alpena). She is also the Founder and Principal Consultant for Platinum Consulting Group. Her consulting clients include organizations in the For Profit sector and Non-Profit organizations with a strategic focus on Leadership Development, Fundraising & Development and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion.
Kimara is a 2007 graduate of Philander Smith College with a B.A. in Organizational Management, Cum Laude and Distinction in Field. She graduated in 2012 with an M.B.A in Ethics and Business Administration from Harding University, in Searcy, Arkansas. Kimara has been nationally certified as a PHR (Human Resources Professional) and a SHRM-CP (Society for Human Resource Management Certified Professional). Kimara has over 19 years of HR experience in a variety of industries including Healthcare, Manufacturing, Higher Education and Construction Management. She is currently a 2nd year Law Student pursuing her J.D. degree with a focus on Employment Law.
Kimara is currently the Treasurer and the Professional Development & Education Committee Chair for the National Association for Women in Construction (NAWIC)- Lansing, Michigan Chapter. She is also the Regional Professional Development & Education Committee Chair for the NAWIC-North Central Region (IN, KY, MI, OH, PA, WV, Western PA).
Kimara is very active in the Human Resources community. She currently serves as the Treasurer for the Detroit Society for Human Resource Management (Detroit SHRM), as well as the Certification Director for the Michigan State Council of SHRM (MISHRM). She is the immediate past MISHRM Director for Diversity. Prior to her relocation to Michigan, she served two terms as the College Relations Director for the Arkansas Society for Human Resources Management State Council (ARSHRM), as well as the VP of Monthly Programs and VP of Administration for the Central Arkansas Human Resources Association (CAHRA). She was selected as the 2016 CAHRA “Russell Gunter Member of the Year” during her tenure.

(Lambda Rho Zeta Graduate Chapter)-March of Dimes Chair/Grants Committee Chair, the Domestic Violence Chair for the Michigan State Organization of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc, and the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc. Great Lakes Regional Chair for March of Dimes Initiatives. Kimara is also a national Board Member for the Arkansas Black Hall of Fame Foundation.
Kimara is an avid runner in various distances including Ultra marathoner, Marathoner, Half marathoner, and numerous 5K and 10K races.
